Pocahontas Trails (IMBA Chapter)

About

Pocahontas County sits at the heart of some of the best backcountry mountain biking in the eastern United States, and Pocahontas Trails is the organization working to make sure that stays true. As the IMBA chapter for the Snowshoe Highlands area, they focus on building and maintaining the trail systems that serve both the dedicated mountain bike community and the growing number of riders discovering this corner of West Virginia for the first time.

The chapter operates in terrain that doesn't forgive sloppy trail work — high elevation, heavy rainfall, serious topography. That makes the quality of what Pocahontas Trails builds and maintains all the more impressive. Their work connects directly to the outdoor economy of one of WV's most visited mountain recreation destinations, supporting businesses and drawing visitors who come specifically for the riding.
