North Bend Rail Trail Foundation

About

The North Bend Rail Trail stretches 72 miles through Ritchie, Wood, and Doddridge counties, passing through 12 tunnels and over 36 bridges as it follows the old B&O Railroad corridor across the hills of North Central West Virginia. The North Bend Rail Trail Foundation supports the trail's continued development and maintenance, working to ensure this historic corridor remains accessible and well-kept for the communities and visitors who use it.

The trail offers a rare combination of history, scenery, and accessibility — it's largely flat, paved in sections, and open to cyclists, hikers, and equestrians. For a part of WV that doesn't always show up in outdoor recreation conversations, the North Bend trail is a quiet gem, and NBRTF is the organization making sure it stays that way.
