The Mountain Masochist Trail Run (MMTR) is a legendary 50-mile ultramarathon held each November in Montebello, Virginia, widely regarded as one of the premier trail races in the East. Set in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains during peak fall foliage, the course blends rugged singletrack, dirt roads, and historic trails, with recent updates emphasizing more time in the mountains and less on gravel. Known for its demanding climbs, long descents, and constantly changing terrain, MMTR offers both a physical and mental challenge while showcasing some of the most beautiful backcountry in the region.
