About Us
The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games is one of the largest and most authentic Scottish Highland gatherings in the United States, held each July in Linville, North Carolina at the base of Grandfather Mountain. The four-day event celebrates Scottish heritage through traditional heavy athletics, Highland dance, pipe and drum competitions, Celtic music, and clan gatherings, all set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Attracting tens of thousands of attendees annually, the Games are known for their vibrant cultural atmosphere, athletic tradition, and strong ties to Scottish-American heritage.
