About Us

Bridge Day stands as the biggest one-day celebration in West Virginia and ranks among the world’s major extreme-sports gatherings. Every year, on the third Saturday of October, the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County opens exclusively to the public, allowing thousands to step onto its span for a rare, up-close look at the action. From this iconic 876-foot-high structure, professional BASE jumpers leap into the Gorge while skilled rappellers make their dramatic climbs and descents from the bridge’s catwalk.

Visitors are invited to take in breathtaking views from one of the most remarkable vantage points in the entire New River Gorge.
