North Bend Rail Trail Foundation

About

The North Bend Rail Trail Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the 72-mile North Bend Rail Trail that passes through tunnels, small towns, and scenic countryside in northwestern West Virginia. The foundation assists with trail promotion, volunteer coordination, and fundraising for maintenance and improvements. Its mission is to ensure that the trail remains an attractive and accessible asset for cyclists, hikers, and equestrians.

By supporting a quieter, less commercialized rail-trail corridor, the foundation helps diversify the types of experiences available to outdoor travelers. This aligns with Access Appalachia’s interest in connecting visitors with both iconic destinations and lesser-known routes that showcase the breadth of Appalachia’s landscapes and communities.
