New River Alliance of Climbers (NRAC)
About
The New River Alliance of Climbers (NRAC) is a climber-led nonprofit focused on securing and maintaining access to world-class climbing areas in the New River Gorge region. The organization works with landowners, public agencies, and partners to address parking, trail erosion, route safety, and conservation concerns. Its mission is to promote responsible climbing while protecting the natural and cultural resources of the cliffs and surrounding forests.
As a steward of one of North America’s premier climbing destinations, NRAC plays a critical role in balancing growing visitation with resource protection. Their work to improve infrastructure and educate climbers supports the kind of high-quality, sustainable adventure experiences that Access Appalachia seeks to uplift.
