Cacapon and Lost Rivers Land Trust

About

The Cacapon and Lost Rivers Land Trust is a community-based conservation organization that works with willing landowners to protect critical landscapes in the Cacapon and Lost River valleys. Through voluntary conservation easements, the trust safeguards working farms, forested ridges, streams, and wildlife habitat that define the character of this Appalachian region. Its mission is to preserve the natural and rural heritage of these valleys for current residents and future generations.

By keeping land intact and undeveloped, the land trust helps maintain clean water, healthy forests, and scenic viewsheds that are essential to outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism. These conserved properties support hiking, birding, paddling, and other low-impact activities, reinforcing the kinds of experiences Access Appalachia was created to promote and connect across the region.
